Homework

Homework has been a tool that has been used for numerous generations; but does it actually benefit students?

Homework is a controversial topic, and we discuss what we believe as a campaign will benefit everyone.

Below, we discuss our view on homework.

Homework

Homework has underlying controversial aspects to the subject. Some people believe that homework benefits the students by reinforcing the information from class. They believe that homework will benefit the child so that they can expand their vocabulary while not forgetting the information that they learned in class that day. Others believe that homework stresses the student out and they lose motivation for learning. When a student is forced to complete an assignment, they are discouraged to learn the content on their own. The student also feels inadequate to solve their problems and they often struggle with self doubt when they cannot figure out a concept on their daily homework assignment. Our campaign believes that students should have small amounts of homework. We believe that it is necessary to reinforce the information so that the students can retain the content; however, we do not believe in high amounts of homework. Our campaign believes that there should be 30 minutes total for homework total because students need to create time for extra activities. We want students to have time for extracurricular activities so that they have an outlet for their stress. This is the best happy medium because students would still have time to review their content from class, while they don’t stress and they have time for extra activities. Overall, our campaign believes in having small amounts of homework so that class content is not forgotten and that the student does not stress out too much unnecessarily.
