Raising Minimum Wage

Below, we discuss our campaign's view on raising minimum wage.

Minimum wage is a controversial topic because some believe that this takes away too much tax money. Others believe that a higher minimum wage gives a chance for struggling families to stay afloat.

When you think of the amount of turnover and profit made by most companies in this country - and especially the big chains, it's a shame that they pay their employees minimum wage and no more than that. What that really says is: 'We're paying you minimum wage, because we're not allowed to pay you any less.- Christina Engela

Below displays our campaign's views on minimum wage.

We want you to endorse raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour so that lower workers can make a better life, even if it increases the unemployment rate by 10%. If you support this in your platform, we will give you $300,000

Raising the minimum wage improves so many aspects of life. With each individual person it allows them to better pay for them and their families’ finances and would allow for more people to attend colleges. When people get paid more money, they are less likely to go and look for a new and higher paying job. Keeping the national minimum wage allows for the tax revenue to keep increasing and would then create more smaller businesses to go under and have to close their doors. All in all raising the national minimum wage helps out everyone in the financial world. This is why Connor Van Huisen is for raising the minimum wage.
