Pharmaceutical drugs are a controversial issue because some citizens believe that America should be the main producer of the drugs, and others believe that China should be the main supplier because they are cheaper to buy from. Pharmaceutical drugs cause controversy also because the people who believe that America should be the main producer for the drugs that Americans use because American manufacturers are more reliable. Supporters of Americans manufacturing the majority of drugs believe that the environment on American soil is more reliable than China because the drugs go through less transporting through machines and planes if the drugs are being transported only on American territory. The opposing view believes that drugs that are from China are better because the prices for buying the drugs is more inexpensive than if the drugs were purchased through American territory. Our campaign believes that there should be less drugs from foreign countries because the drugs that are manufactured in America are safer for citizens. During the COVID19 pandemic, America is experiencing a shortage of necessary drugs because most of the vital drugs that America needs comes from China, and in order to stop the spread of the virus, we cannot receive the drugs from China. Our campaign believes that if we make all of the drugs on American soil, we would not run into as severe issues as experiencing a drug shortage for necessary pharmaceutical medications. If America manufactured the drugs on American soil, the price for medication for individuals would be significantly less than buying drugs from other foreign countries. In conclusion, our campaign believes that we need to decrease the intake of pharmaceutical medications from foreign countries in order to not only keep American citizens safe, but that America does not experience a more severe drug shortage.
